The District Award of Merit is the highest recognition that can be bestowed by a district.
It is awarded to a small and select number of registered Scouters each year
based upon the number of chartered units in the district.
It is given in recognition of noteworthy service beyond the expectation of duty
that is rendered to youth both within and outside of Scouting.
A Scouter may only receive this award once.
