Boy Scout Troop 116, Charlotte, NC,
sponsored by St. John's Episcopal Church
is one of the strongest troops in the Mecklenburg County Council.
Since being chartered in April, 1962,
Troop 116 has consistently gone on numerous outings and
special High Adventure expeditions,
had nearly 250 Eagle Scouts, and earned the right to call itself:

We are proud of the many years of excellent Scouting experience provided to the hundreds of young men who have been members of Troop 116. Ours is a tradition of excellence and achievement.


			This Web site was designed and originally published in 1995 by Bob Kearley, and later enhanced by Charlie Love, Troop 116 Eagle Scouts #114 and #111. As one of the first Boy Scout troop Web sites in the world, it was hosted for its first five years by Charlotte's Web, an innovator in community Internet services, administered by the staff and volunteers at the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. Since 2000, hosting and technical services have been generously provided by Spencer Love, Love Web Wiz, a friend of the Troop. Thanks to all for your help in expanding the communications of Troop 116.

Landon Holbert is the Troop's newest Eagle Scout. He passed his Board of Review on April 23, to become Troop 116 Eagle Scout #247.

	2013 National Scout Jamboree registration is open for Scouts to be added to the waiting list. Scouts can only attend by being a registered participant with the Council Contingent and must begin the signup process with online registration first. 	Eagle Court of Honor for Ben Hinson, Sat. June 1, 2:00 p.m., Steele Creek Church of Charlotte, 1929 W. Arrowood Rd.

	Philmont Scout-Parent Meeting, Mon. June 3, 7:15 pm, Tilson Hall. All trip participants and a parent are expected to attend. No regular troop meeting. Crew Leaders, please arrive before 7:00 to help set up. Uniform for this meeting is the Official Scout Uniform.

	Camp Grimes Scout-Parent Meeting, Mon. June 24, 7:15 pm, Tilson Hall. All summer camp participants and a parent are expected to attend. No regular troop meeting. All Leadership Scouts, please arrive before 7:00 to help set up. Uniform for this meeting is the Official Scout Uniform with Troop red T-shirt under Scout shirt.
